Founded in 1971, the National Changhua University of Education (NCUE) is one of the three normal universities that offer secondary school teacher certificate programs in Taiwan. It is now a comprehensive university featuring seven colleges with 21 undergraduate programs, 43 master’s programs and 15 PhD programs that provide complete university degree programs and exceptional teacher training.
Over the past four decades the NCUE has made constant course innovations and diversifications to cultivate a steady stream of outstanding junischool teachers, as well as R&D scientists and economic planning and development personnel in the fields of science, engineering and business management. In addition, it has evolved into one of the top universities in the areas of vocational education, science education, counseling, language, special education, and physical education.
Fmore than 10 consecutive years, the school has garnered awards from the Ministry of Education fits outstanding projects. The Ministry of Education has also selected NCUE as a university entitled to perform Self-assessment and supervision of its departments and graduate schools, while the Ministry of Science and Technology has designed NCUE as an outstanding implementing university fits Flexible Remuneration Project.
The NCUE is committed to international exchange and has signed double-degree collaboration agreements with foreign universities to help its students acquire transnational double degrees and pursue their dreams. There are vibrant exchanges going on with prestigious universities in the United States, Japan, Korea, Germany, France, Mainland China, etc.
NCUE is located in Changhua City, a culturally vibrant and ecologically rich region in Central Taiwan. It is near the THSR Taichung Station, Central Taiwan Science Park, Taichung Precision Machinery Science and Technology Innovation Park, Central Taiwan Science Park, and Zhang Bin Industrial Park, which offers considerable advantages in term of the school’s development, government-academia collaborations. The school also has an extended education college, which actively cooperates with government, academia, and research institutions, making the school a hub fprofessional education and training in Central Taiwan.

- The NCUE currently ranks as Taiwanese second largest university of teachers’ education. The NCUE comprises seven colleges including College of Education, College of Science, College of Technology and Vocational Education, College of Art, College of Engineering, College of Management, and College of Social Science and Physical. Most of NCUE graduates go on to successfully reach their goals by entering graduate schools receiving job and teaching offers.
The NCUE cares fits students and spares no effort to set up scholarships, grants, and student assistant positions. It offers career counseling to help students transition from university to the labmarket and build a career. In 2017, the Award fExcellence in International Student Services was given to the NCUE by the Ministry of Education.
