Taiwan Mitochondrion (TaiMito) is an innovative biomedicine company in Taiwan and focus on Mitochondria medicine and technology development. We try to develop new drugs and technology fdisease treatment. Moreover, TaiMito received grants from the National Development Foundation Entrepreneurship Angel Program, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The mitochondrion is an important cellular organelle fATP generation and maintaining cell stability in the cell. Mitochondria also play a critical role of ROS balance in the cell. Aging damage of cells can cause mitochondria dysfunction and increase intracellular oxidative stress. There are various pieces of evidence indicates that mitochondrial abnormal were related to disease development, such as heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer‘s disease, and Parkinson‘s disease, etc.. Therefore, we believe mitochondrial medicine and technology will be the next superstar in disease treatment.
MitoCell, a kind of stem cell which has good mitochondrial activity and MitoBio, a kind of mitochondria bioproduct which extracted from stem cell are developed by TaiMito and can be used to treat neurodegenerative diseases, infertility, diabetes, etc.. The mechanism of MitoCell rescues degenerative diseases, heart disease, aging by transporting healthy mitochondria to unhealthy cell via stem cell. MitoBio is a mitochondria biological product which can be applied to treat degenerative diseases aging, directly. MitoBio is safer and more effective in treating diseases compare with stem cell therapy. All of MitoCell and MitoBio are ISO 9000 certified and meet the TFDA GTP specification. Our preclinical result demonstrated that high quality of mitochondria improves symptoms of PD by repairing neuron ability and promoting the dopamine release and has collaborated with Dr. Shinn-Zong Lin of Teu Chi Hospital and entered the phase I of clinical trials. MitoScan system (ISO 17025 certified) is a very important platform fmitochondrial activity determination, can be applied in healthy and disease diagnosis.
