國際SOS是全球最大醫療服務與風險管理公司，自1985年成立至今，目前全球擁有超過5000名員工，其中1/3為專業醫護人員，分佈在全球五大洲的24小時警報中心與醫療機構為客戶提供全年無休，7天24小時的醫療及安全諮詢服務。
國際SOS台灣分公司於1994年成立，提供24小時全天候醫療協助、旅遊諮詢、跨國性健康管理、人身救援等服務工作。目前員工近50名，包括全職的協調醫師及醫護相關背景的專業人士共計8名。平均一年處理超過上千件的醫療服務案件，以及近250人次的空中醫療轉送。
在台灣，90%以上的保險公司長期委託國際SOS提供海外緊急醫療/旅遊協助。就產業別來看,目前台灣的客戶市場包括政府單位、保險業、銀行及發卡組織及企業；企業市場又包括高科技產業、汽車業、運輸航空業、民生消費品製造業與醫藥產業等。
數以千計的跨國企業為國際SOS的會員，2006年國際SOS處理了近80萬件緊急事故，而台灣地區，平均每1.5天就有一件醫療轉送案件進行中。
