In 1968, a group of outstanding and successful Chinese businessmen, scholars, and professionals in Taiwan heeded a call to contribute positively to society and to secure a better future for people around the world.
This diverse group of people from Taiwan and overseas Chinese with strong foreign support formed a non-profit organization known as Distinguished Citizens Society International.
The members firmly believe in encouraging the dignity of being honest, helpful, and enthusiastic in promoting peace and fairness without regard to barriers of race and ethnicity in committing themselves without reservation to strive for a more harmonized environment for citizens worldwide. These aspirations have brought along the establishment of regional DCS organizations in the United States, Japan, Russia, China, Hong Kong, and Macau. The city chapters of these regional organizations have participated in various activities that entailed heavy involvement at the local level in accordance with city and regional customs and traditions that emphasize its humanitarian philosophy that originated in 1968.
This new millennium has seen a mass movement towards globalization, and DCS has successfully made this transition by utilizing its organizational strength and growth. DCS is expecting more regional and city chapters to be formed in the near future. These member chapters are challenged and encouraged to fulfill their commitments to the world by spreading their strong, humanitarian message and positive attitude.
