The Australian Commerce and Industry Office (ACIO), Taipei, which was established in 1981 represents a wide range of Australian interests in Taiwan.
Economic Affairs Section (EAS)
Responsible for Australia-Taiwan bilateral relations, including trade negotiations, analysis and preparing reports on developments in Taiwan. Assists the development of cultural relations and disseminating information on Australia to the media and the general public. Also provides a range of services to Australian citizens, including managing passport applications registering Australian Citizens, and providing assistance and useful information to Australian citizens.
Australian Business Centre (ABC)
Promotion of Australian exports to Taiwan and two-way investment between Australia and Taiwan. services include market research, partnership building, identifying trade and investment opportunities and organising Australian participation in trade promotion events, business missions, a trade inquiry hotline and public affairs related to trade and investment.
Australian Visa Services (AVS)
Process visas for holiday makers, short and long term business trips, students, persons attending training programs and other kinds of temporary residence. Provides impartial information on permanent visas and arranges marketing and promotion of Business Skills and Investors Prograams.
Australian Education International (AEI/AEC)
Marketing and promotion of Australia’s education and training services including the operation of the Australia Education Centre as a provider of impartial information and advice to potential students.
